Egyptians Riot after 7 Christian Copts Killed in Church Attack

AP | by Sarah El Deeb | Jan. 7, 2010

CAIRO – Thousands clashed with police during a funeral procession Thursday for six of seven people killed in an attack on churchgoers leaving a midnight Mass for Coptic Christians, security officials said. Throughout the day, protesters in the southern town of Nag Hamadi pelted police with rocks and damaged cars and stores.

Early in the day, they smashed ambulances outside a hospital in frustration over delays in turning over the bodies for burial. A security official said police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd. [Read more…]

Orthodox Priest Who Converted Muslims Murdered in Russia

RIA Novosti | Nov. 20, 2009

A Russian Orthodox priest, Fr. Daniel Sysoyev, who carried out missionary work among immigrants from ex-Soviet republics, many of them Muslims, received over a dozen death threats before his murder on Thursday, a Russian paper said.

Fr. Daniel of St. Thomas Church in Moscow foresaw his death, writing in his internet diary that he had received telephone threats from Muslims. Fr. Daniel’s evening ‘talks’ for inquirers included several especially designed for Muslims. [Read more…]

Does Islam Breed Violence?

American Thinker | by Amil Imani | Nov. 12, 2009

There is a division of the house. On one side are the politically correct in government, the leftist mainstream media, and a raft of Islamist apologists. One and all are tripping over each other in reassuring us the mass murderers such as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan and suicide-bombers who detonate their explosive vests in crowded marketplaces and even mosques are individual anomalies and Islam is not responsible for what they do.

On the other side are those fed up with the innumerable daily horrific acts throughout the world that are clearly committed under the banner of Islam. In all fairness, there needs to be a distinction. [Read more…]

Obama: Hasan May Have Cracked Under Stress

Our president refuses to call the brutal massacre of 13 innocent unarmed Americans (12 soldiers + 1 civilan) and shooting of 29 innocent others an act of terrorism, despite Hasan’s previous praises of suicide bombers, his attempts to contact al Qaeda, and his shouts of “Alahu Akbar” as he slaughtered so many defenseless Americans at Ft. Hood.

Real Clear Politics | Nov. 10, 2009

Given what we already know, Barack Hussein Obama dares to say: “Until we have these answers buttoned down, I’d rather not comment on it.” Pathetic! [Read more…]

U.S. Knew of Suspect’s Tie to Radical Cleric

The New York Times | by David Johnston and Scott Shane | Nov. 9, 2009

Intelligence agencies intercepted communications last year and this year between the military psychiatrist accused of shooting to death 13 people at Fort Hood, Tex., and a radical cleric in Yemen known for his incendiary anti-American teachings. [Read more…]

The Left and Terror

American Thinker | by J.R. Dunn | Nov. 8, 2009

The Jihadis will return. We know this, in the same way that we know about death and taxes. Thanks in large part to the weakening of our defensive efforts under the new administration, there will be further attacks against this country’s population, perhaps even worse than those of 9/11. (This week’s attack by Nidal Malik Hasan serves to underline the threat.)

When this attack occurs, we will see an end to all the nonsense. Our present drift regarding terror policy is occurring only because Americans have been encouraged to put unpleasant realities at a distance, to live in a dream world where all the bad stuff happens to other people. 9/11 has ceased to signify. Terrorism has become a matter of bad manners. As my grandfather might have put it, this country is in for a rude awakening. [Read more…]

Scotland’s Turn To Shame the West

Townhall | Dennis Prager | Aug. 25, 2009

This week, it was Scotland’s turn to shame Western civilization. And though it seemed impossible to outdo Yale, Scotland has. The Scottish government released Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, the one person convicted in the mass murder of 270 people when Pan Am flight 103 was blown up over Lockerbie, Scotland, in December 1988.

As the Chicago Tribune noted in an editorial appropriately titled “Scotland’s Shame,” at al-Megrahi’s 2001 trial, the Scottish prosecutor pointed out that “four hundred parents lost a child, 46 parents lost their only child, 65 women were widowed, 11 men lost their wives, 140 lost a parent, seven lost both parents.” [Read more…]

Islam’s European Conquest: Is America Next?

American Thinker | John Griffing | Aug. 20, 2009

Britain, birthplace of parliamentary democracy, has fallen to Islam. Oxford, once home to the likes of C.S. Lewis, now houses a giant Eastern Islamic Studies Center. If this were the only Islamic addition to Oxford, the mood would be less somber, but when Oxford citizens are forced to awake every morning to the Muslim call to prayer with the full consent of the Church of England, nothing short of conquest has taken place.

Britain’s Muslim demographic is now so dominant that the British government recently began to allow Islamic civil and religious law, known as Sharia, to be enforced along side British law. [Read more…]

Turning a Blind Eye to Murdered Christians

FrontPage Magazine | Mark D. Tooley | Aug. 17, 2009

In June, North Korean’s beastly communist dictatorship executed a 33 year old Christian woman for distributing Bibles, while also imprisoning her 3 little children, husband and parents, in conditions undoubtedly ghastly.

Several weeks ago, mobs involving hundreds, and perhaps thousands, of enraged radical Islamists destroyed several Christian villages in Pakistan, responding to incendiary rumors about Christians supposedly desecrating the Koran. Hundreds of homes were destroyed, and at least 14 Christians were murdered, including three Christian women and a child who were burned alive as the radicals torched houses and shops. [Read more…]

See This Movie: “The Stoning of Soraya M.”

FrontPageMag | Dennis Prager | June 30, 2009

How many politically incorrect movies has Hollywood made in the last generation? How many films, for instance, have depicted communist evil? Given that Communism murdered more than 100 million innocents — in peacetime! — and enslaved about 1 billion more, one would think that Hollywood would have made a fair number of movies depicting the horrors of communism. But aside from “Dr. Zhivago” and “The Killing Fields,” I cannot think of any. There are, of course, innumerable films depicting Nazi evil — as well there should be — but it takes no courage to make films depicting Nazis as evil. [Read more…]

Jet bombers planned mass killing over Atlantic

AFP | Feb. 17, 2009

Eight Islamic fundamentalists planned to kill on an “unprecedented scale” by exploding bombs on transatlantic flights, a British court heard Tuesday. The men, who were arrested in August 2006 before they could carry out the alleged plot, had hoped for a “truly global impact”, prosecutor Peter Wright told a London court.

Wright told Woolwich Crown Court that Abdulla Ahmed Ali and Assad Sarwar, both 28, led the group and were “indifferent to the carnage that was likely to ensue if their plans were successful.” [Read more…]
