Teenagers Will be Victimized by Secret Abortions Under Obama

LifeNews.com | Matt Barber | Nov. 2, 2008

Contrary to Obama’s disingenuous rhetoric promising to “reduce the number of abortions,” the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would – with one stroke of the pen – remove every commonsense regulation placed on the abortion industry over the past three decades. Rather than reducing the already astronomical rate of abortions, the number would skyrocket ever-upward under an Obama presidency. [Read more…]

California Parental Notification Law on Abortion Helps Teens

LifeNews.com | Steven Ertelt | Oct. 20, 2008

A California police officer, who is a veteran of investigating sexual abuse cases, says the parental notification measure California voters will consider next month is sorely needed. California is one of a handful of states that don’t let parents know of their daughter’s potential abortion.

The case involved a San Bernardino County couple who didn’t find out until four years later that their 12-year-old daughter had been a victim of sexual abuse and that the assailant forced her to have an abortion to cover up his crime.

The couple reported the attack to police and, without their involvement, the abuser never would have been held accountable. [Read more…]

Obama Did Vote to Teach Sex Ed to Kindergartners

Amy Proctor | Amy Proctor | Sept. 14, 2008

You’ve probably seen John McCain’s You Tube ad saying Barack Obama’s only legislative accomplishment on education was voting yea on teaching kindergarteners sex education. The Obama campaign refutes the ad. They say the legislation taught kindergartners how to discern sexual predators.

Not true. The McCain ad is right. Obama voted in the Illinois Senate to pass a bill for comphrensive sex education for grades K-12. [Read more…]

If There Is No God

Townhall.com | Dennis Prager | Aug. 19, 2008

We are constantly reminded about the destructive consequences of religion — intolerance, hatred, division, inquisitions, persecutions of “heretics,” holy wars. Though far from the whole story, they are, nevertheless, true. There have been many awful consequences of religion.

What one almost never hears described are the deleterious consequences of secularism — the terrible developments that have accompanied the breakdown of traditional religion and belief in God. For every thousand students who learn about the Spanish Inquisition and the Salem Witch Trials, maybe two learn to associate Gulag, Auschwitz, The Cultural Revolution and the Cambodian genocide with secular regimes and ideologies.

For all the problems associated with belief in God, the death of God leads to far more of them. [Read more…]

The Thin Margin of Freedom’s Victory

American Thinker | Lee Cary | July 4, 2008

We the people metaphorically dodged a bullet when the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the Second Amendment is still alive. While many of us celebrated, we were also dismayed by the thin margin of freedom’s victory.

But that should not surprise us. There have been close calls in the past. And there will be others in the future, because, as once the Liberty Bell cracked soon after it was hung, so too, from time-to-time, freedom itself hangs by the thin margin of one vote. [Read more…]

Evolving Nonsense

NRO | Editors | Jun 26, 2008

In his opinion Wednesday for a five-justice majority in Kennedy v. Louisiana, Justice Anthony Kennedy ruled that the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition of “cruel and unusual punishments” forbids imposition of the death penalty for the rape of a child. Or, rather, he ruled that the Court’s modern rewriting of the Eighth Amendment as a license for the Court to impose its “independent judgment” of “the evolving standards of decency that mark the progress of a maturing society” yields that result. If any further evidence were needed that the Supreme Court’s death-penalty decisions have become entirely unmoored from the actual Eighth Amendment — as well as from the good sense of the American people — Kennedy’s opinion provides it. DC Gun Ban Blown Away

Human Events | Ted Nugent | Jun. 26, 2008

As I swab down one of my hundreds of privately owned, individually possessed firearms again this fine morning, I snicker and shake my head in disbelief that there are four “justices” on the “supreme” court that do not believe Americans have individual rights. Sure, I am somewhat pleased that we now have a SCOTUS confirmation of the self-evident truth and God given individual right to keep and bear arms, but the 5-4 ruling is another painful example, like Guantanamo and the decree against the death penalty for child rapist decisions that indicate a divisive culture war raging on, and four supreme justices frighteningly disconnected from the heart and soul of America.
