EPA Pushing to Impose a Flatulence Tax on Cows and Hogs

AP-FoxNews | Bob Johnson | Dec. 5, 2008

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – For farmers, this stinks: Belching and gaseous cows and hogs could start costing them money if a federal proposal to charge fees for air-polluting animals becomes law.

Farmers so far are turning their noses up at the notion, which is one of several put forward by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2007 that greenhouse gases emitted by belching and flatulence amounts to air pollution.

“This is one of the most ridiculous things the federal government has tried to do,” said Alabama Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks, an outspoken opponent of the proposal. It would require farms or ranches with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 hogs to pay an annual fee of about $175 for each dairy cow, $87.50 per head of beef cattle and $20 for each hog. Why We Call Them Human Rights

Ecuador just gave every virus, bacterium, insect, tree & weed constitutional rights.
The Weekly Standard | Wesley J. Smith | Nov. 24, 2008

Rights, properly understood, are moral entitlements embodied in law to protect all people. They are not earned: Rights come as part of the package of being a member of the human race. This principle was most eloquently enunciated in the Declaration of Independence’s assertion that we are all created equal and endowed with inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Obama addresses global warming summit

Boston.com | Foon Rhee | Nov. 18, 2008

Obama is pledging to make America more energy independent and to also slash carbon emissions by focusing on alternative sources such as wind and solar. He is also vowing to work more cooperatively with other nations on climate change.

“Few challenges facing America — and the world – are more urgent than combating climate change,” he says in the video. “The science is beyond dispute and the facts are clear. Sea levels are rising. Coastlines are shrinking. We’ve seen record drought, spreading famine, and storms that are growing stronger with each passing hurricane season. Climate change and our dependence on foreign oil, if left unaddressed, will continue to weaken our economy and threaten our national security. [Read more…]

Like Father, Like Son – Obama’s Father: Government 100% Taxation of Income OK

Investor’s Business Daily | Aug. 14, 2008

As a Nairobi bureaucrat, Barack Hussein Obama Sr. advised the pro-Western Kenyan government there to “redistribute” income through higher taxes. He also demonized corporations and called for massive government “investment” in social programs.

Writing in a 1965 scholarly paper, Obama’s late father slammed the administration of then-President Jomo Kenyatta for moving the Third World country away from socialism toward capitalism. He chafed at the idea of relying on private investors — who earn “dividends” on their venture capital — to develop the country’s fledgling economy. [Read more…]

Obama: Constitution Reflects Fundamental Flaw

Wizbangblog.com | Kim Priestap | Oct. 27, 2008

Barack Obama is a radical. That much has been proven with his own words. In the audio tape that Steve linked to earlier, we hear Barack Obama lament the fact that the Warren Court didn’t include redistribution of wealth as part of its civil rights decision. A few days ago we also heard him accuse white executives in suburbs of not wanting to pay taxes to poor children so they can go to school, which again reinforces his views on redistribution of wealth. Now we have another audio tape of Barack Obama in which he says the US Constitution “reflected a fundamental flaw of this country that carries on to this day.” [Read more…]

Bill Ayers, Radical Loon When Obama Was Only 47

Human Events | Ann Coulter | Oct. 16, 2008

The media are acting as if they completely and fully vetted Obama during the Democratic primaries and that’s why they are entitled to send teams of researchers into Alaska to analyze Sarah Palin’s every expense report.

In fact, the mainstream media did no vetting. They seem to have all agreed, “OK, none of us will get into this business with Jeremiah Wright, ‘Tony’ Rezko, Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayers and everyone’s impression of an angry Michelle Obama on ‘The Jerry Springer Show.'” [Read more…]

On Bill Ayers and small ‘c’ communists

American Thinker | James Lewis | Oct. 15, 2008

Bill Ayers said in 1995 that he was just a “small ‘c’ communist.” He said it with a little laugh. And most of us aren’t even shocked. We’ve heard words like that before. But we should feel shivers running up our spines.

I know goofy liberals who moan about all the good intentions demonstrated by Karl Marx, Lenin, and Trotsky. They’re all Obama voters, for some reason. They are the same kinds of people who think Jesus was a communist, and that George W. Bush is Hitler. They are often the kind of people who try desperately to be completely nice in their lives, especially to designated victims. But often they harbor a belly full of rage — against conservatives, or big corporations, or fundamentalist Christians, or anybody who challenges their belief in their own saintliness.

In basic politics there are only two numbers you need to know. One is Six Million. You know what that means. The other number is not nearly as well-known, but it should be. It’s One Hundred Million. [Read more…]
