Anita Dunn Favorite Philosopher Mao Tse-Tung

Anita Dunn, the White House Communications Director, admitted that one of favorite political Philosophers, one that she “turns to the most”, is Mao Tse-Tung, the demonic communist dictator responsible for the starvation, torture, and murder of 70 million Chinese.

Actual Transcript of Anita Dunn, Obama’s White House Communications Director, giving a speech to high school students in June 2009:

A lot of you have great deal of ability. A lot of you work hard. Put them together and that answers the why not question. There is usually not a good reason. And then the 3rd lesson and tip actually come from two of my favorite political philosophers. Mao Tse-tung and Mother Teresa, not often couple with each other, but the two people that I turn to most to basically deliver a simple point which is you’re going to make choices, you’re going to challenge, you’re going to say why not. You’re going to figure out how to do things that have never been done before. But here’s the deal, these are your choices, they’re no one else’s.

In 1947, when Mao Tse-tung was being challenged within his own party, on his plan to basically take China over, Chiang Kai-shek and the nationalist Chinese held the cities, they had the army, they had the air force, they had everything on their side and people said how can you win, how can you do this, how can you do this against all odds against you, and Mao Tse-tung said “You fight your war and I’ll fight mine.” Think about that for a second, you don’t have to accept the definition of how to do things and you don’t have to follow other people’s choices in the past. Okay. It is about your choices in your path, you fight your own war. You lay out your own path. You figure out what is right for you. You don’t let external definition how good you are internally. You fight your own war. You let them fight their’s. Everybody has their own path.

Anita Dunn was speaking at the graduation ceremony for St. Andrews Episcopal School (Potomac, MD) It was held at The Washington National Cathedral. When speaking to a high school graduating class a member of Obama’s inner circle praises Mao, within ‘Washington National Cathedral’ no less. This is sacrilegious, outrageous, and downright evil.

  1. In his October 2005 essay in COMMENTARY, Arthur Waldron describes the architect of China’s Cultural Revolution this way: “Mao was the greatest mass murderer of the 20th century. Much of the killing was direct, as in the torture and purges at Yan’an. After the Communist seizure of power in 1949, the practice became countrywide. Mao set his numerical targets openly, and stressed the ‘revolutionary’ importance of killing.” It is said of Mao — who was responsible for the death of some 70 million Chinese — that he derived a “sadistic pleasure” from seeing people put to death in horrible ways.

All this goes uncommented upon by Miss Dunn. Her praise for Mao — unqualified and without caveats, based on the excerpts of her speech — is quite extraordinary. For a senior member of the White House to hold these views is more extraordinary still. Perhaps Pol Pot will be the subject of Dunn’s next favorable meditation.

You might assume that the White House press corps would think this is a matter worth exploring — but you would (so far) be wrong. I won’t speculate as to why that’s the case; I will only say that its lack of curiosity and interest on this matter is, well, worth noting.

  2. Dunn said that she originally got the quotation from Republican Lee Atwater. So apparently it’s Ok for Republicans to quote Mao but not Democrats.

Dunn also noted that she was making kind of a joke since neither Mao nor Mother Teresa were political philosophers. When Dunn quotes Mao, Beck assumes that she is a Marxist, but when she quotes Mother Teresa he doesn’t assume that she’s a Catholic.

This kind of stuff is just another example of how people on the right have to keep each other continually juiced up on anger and umbrage. It’s the right’s version of crystal meth. I hope you enjoy it.

  3. How soon can we get these people out of power? The next election HAS to take a lot of the wind out of their sails or we are swiftly on our way to socialism – – – er, according to Dunn, communism would be best of all.

  4. Anita Dung is Obama’s Joseph Goebbels. How dare these Marxist
traitors dismantle our Constitution, and our First Amendment!!!

  5. There is an American President that used to hang out with Mao, but his name was Richard Nixon, not Obama. Please don’t mention this to Glenn Beck. I think Beck is a few years too young to remember when Nixon and Mao used to “pal” around together.

  6. I am Orthodox. I am appalled at this information. This woman is not appropriate to be in government. We need to call for her to resign because of these remarks.

Mao was a mass murderer. This woman is morally incompetent to speak to children. It is time for the Churches to become more active in what is happening in our country and protest this and other outrages. NOW.

  7. Jim, You expect us to believe that a radical Marxist like Anita Dunn was a close follower of a Republican strategist who has been dead for 19 years? I can’t stop laughing! This is so hilarious it’s simply delicious.

It is amazing to see the contortions and lengths to which the leftists go to explain away their lunacy and distance themselves from their own statements and beliefs.

Antia Dunn’s and the White House’s excuses and explanations so far include:

    “Taken out of context!”

“You just didn’t understand the irony!”

“She picked this up from a Republican [who died 19 years ago]!”

    “Just kidding!”

Watch that video again and tell me all the information and passion Anita shows for the philosophy of Mao is just “humor” or “irony.” You won’t admit the truth because you like to believe the lie and smear the conservatives for everything. Truth and reality are meaningless to those that embrace the leftist dogma.

Please peddle your propaganda and infantile explanations somewhere else Jim. The adult readers of this Blog have had enough of such pathetic excuses and “argumentation” meant to muddy the waters. We’re on to you!

  8. As usual, people who don’t like Beck are experts on the man….mind you, they have never sat down for 5 minutes to watch his show or listen to his program.

    Mother Teresa were political philosophers.

Neither was Jesus, but that doesn’t stop Marxists from quoting him non-stop. What is LIberation theology based upon? Marx and Jesus.

Atwater jokingly quoted Mao but never called him ‘one of my favorite philosophers’.

  9. Also, Dunn could call the red phone on Beck’s show and defend herself, but when you don’t have the MSM spin machine acting as a buffer zone, you don’t go into battles you know you cannot win.
