The Rainbow is Sign of God’s Promise, Not Symbol for Pride and Sexual Immorality

Rainbow Sign of God Promise, Not Symbol for Pride and Sexual Immoralityby Allen Jackson –
The rainbow is not a symbol of personal identity or political ideology. It was never meant to celebrate human pride. The rainbow belongs to God. It’s a covenant sign—a sacred reminder of His mercy, faithfulness, and promise never to flood the entire earth again (Genesis 9:13–17).

Our culture has taken what is holy and repurposed it for something entirely different. But redefining symbols doesn’t change truth—it only reveals how far we’ve drifted from it. It was God’s sign long before it became a symbol for sexual immorality.

The same God who gave us the rainbow is still offering mercy and writing stories of redemption. Let’s pray for the individuals who are deceived, trying to find their identity in places that were never meant to define them. Let’s lift up the churches who have strayed from God’s Word—who’ve traded conviction for cultural acceptance.

And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” (Genesis 9:12-16)
