\nBy now, nearly everyone paying attention knows that Barack Obama has lied countless times over the years in order to further his academic and political career.\u00a0 He is, in fact, a “composite.”\u00a0\u00a0And what we do know is just a hint of what there is yet to know, given that all his academic records are sealed.<\/p>\n
Our president lied about his mother’s lack of health insurance.\u00a0 He lied about his father’s early life<\/a>. \u00a0His publisher’s brochure described him as “born in Kenya<\/a>” for years, until he began running for president.\u00a0 There are countless other examples of his prevarications that fluff out his phony r\u00e9sum\u00e9.\u00a0 It is almost certain that he did not write Dreams from My Father<\/em> by himself and that his relationship with Jeremiah Wright was cultivated to serve his political future…until it didn’t.\u00a0 And now, even Michelle is unable to keep the fabricated facts<\/a> of her husband’s life straight. <\/p>\n And then there is Elizabeth Warren<\/strong>, the darling of the Boston\/Harvard left, the self-described Cherokee without a shred of evidence to prove her claims of Native American heritage. \u00a0Her claim made her a diversity hire at two prestigious schools.\u00a0 She even submitted a couple of recipes to a Native American cookbook, Pow Wow Chow<\/em>, that she borrowed from Pierre Frainey.\u00a0 She chose those recipes poorly; Oklahoma Cherokees probably did not dine on cold omelets with crabmeat!<\/p>\n Bill Clinton<\/strong>‘s moral lapses\u00a0and crimes against women are legendary and too numerous to list, yet he still has adoring fans who would vote for him in a minute if he was on a ballot — any ballot.\u00a0 Hillary does not score much better on the truth and morality scale: Whitewater, managing her husband’s “bimbo eruptions,” her fabricated helicopter landing in Bosnia amid sniper fire, etc.\u00a0 Only a few months ago, she called Syria’s Bashir Assad a “reformer<\/a>.”\u00a0 She is at the very least a poor judge of character.<\/p>\n And the Kennedy men<\/a>…they have always been, and remain, despicable cads who have used and abused women habitually. \u00a0Still, people support them for public office. \u00a0Jack was a hound.\u00a0 Ted was expelled<\/a> from Harvard for cheating.\u00a0 The list goes on and on.<\/p>\n Then there is the odious John Edwards<\/strong>, who got too close to the White House for comfort.<\/p>\n John Kerry<\/strong> grossly exaggerated his four months of service in Vietnam.\u00a0 When he returned to the U.S., he did everything he could to malign and discredit American servicemen in the ’60s.\u00a0 Today he revels in wealth he did not earn, but rather married.\u00a0 Still, people vote for him! \u00a0Richard Blumenthal was elected despite having lied about his (non-)service in Vietnam.<\/p>\n Eliot Spitzer<\/strong> got his own television show after being outed as a regular patron of prostitutes. \u00a0As district attorney of NY, Spitzer viciously persecuted and prosecuted New York businessmen for ethics violations. \u00a0And then there is the noted exhibitionist Anthony Weiner, who still has a dedicated fan<\/a> club.\u00a0 Its members are convinced that he was framed!\u00a0 How is that for critical thinking?<\/p>\n Now our nation’s attorney general, Eric Holder<\/strong>, though not an elected official, is traveling around the country doing the president’s bidding by lying to African-American audiences.\u00a0 He is telling them that the drive to require a photo ID to vote is a Republican conspiracy to deprive them of their voting rights.\u00a0 Quite the reverse is true.\u00a0 He has ordered Florida to stop purging their voter rolls of ineligible voters, illegal immigrants, and dead people. \u00a0Why?\u00a0 The only answer is to perpetrate vote fraud. \u00a0As with his lawsuits against Arizona and Texas, he is attempting to force a state to stop<\/em> enforcing federal laws!\u00a0 How does the chief law enforcement officer of the country do that and keep his job?<\/p>\n It would seem from just these few examples that our political class does indeed live by different rules, or by no rules.\u00a0 There are countless other tales of the wicked abuses of power by our elected and appointed officials, who have so much control over our lives and want more.\u00a0 Men and women who have committed grave ethical and\/or moral failures run for office and are elected regularly.<\/p>\n So how and why has our culture failed to inculcate in our citizenry the critical thinking skills necessary to assess character?
