Maxine Waters said the following to the president of Shell Oil during a House hearing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAnd guess what this liberal would be all about? This liberal would be all about socializing \u2014 er, uh. [Pauses for several moments] \u2026. would be about \u2026 [pause] \u2026 basically \u2026 taking over, and the government running all of your companies.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;As soon as the word \u201csocialization\u201d exits her lips, she knows she made a big blunder, not the least of which is that the actual term is \u201cnationalization\u201d. Waters just declared a socialist policy of total confiscation in the House hearing room, and she looks for an exit strategy, finally winding up with the slightly more ambiguous idea of Washington \u201crunning\u201d the oil companies.
