Iraqis shout,<br \/>\nWe&#8217;d sell our souls if we could be you.<br \/>\nHow come you cannot see the way we see you?<br \/>\nYou tread a freedom forest as you please.<br \/>\nBut, damn! you miss the forest for the trees.<br \/>\nTen thousand wanderers a week<br \/>\nEngulf your shore,<br \/>\nYou wonder what their shouting&#8217;s for,<br \/>\nAnd why so glad?<\/p>\n<p>Run warm those souls: America is bad?<br \/>\nSit down, stare in their faces, see!<br \/>\nYou be the hoped-for thing a hopeless world would be.<br \/>\nIn tides of immigrants that this year flow<br \/>\nYou still remain the beckoning hearth they&#8217;d know.<br \/>\nIn midnight beds with blueprint, plan and scheme<br \/>\nYou are the dream that other people dream.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mr. Bradbury is the author of &#8220;Fahrenheit 451&#8221; and numerous other books.<\/em> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wall Street Opinion Journal Ray Bradbury May 17, 2006 We are the dream that other people dream.
