It was never meant to celebrate human pride. The rainbow belongs to God. <!--more--> It\u2019s a covenant sign\u2014a sacred reminder of His mercy, faithfulness, and promise never to flood the entire earth again (Genesis 9:13\u201317). <\/p>\n<p>Our culture has taken what is holy and repurposed it for something entirely different. But redefining symbols doesn&#8217;t change truth\u2014it only reveals how far we\u2019ve drifted from it. It was God\u2019s sign long before it became a symbol for sexual immorality.<\/p>\n<p>The same God who gave us the rainbow is still offering mercy and writing stories of redemption. Let&#8217;s pray for the individuals who are deceived, trying to find their identity in places that were never meant to define them. Let&#8217;s lift up the churches who have strayed from God\u2019s Word\u2014who\u2019ve traded conviction for cultural acceptance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11497\" src=\"https:\/\/www.orthodoxytoday.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/1_divider_03_231x15.png\" alt=\"Line divider 231x15\" width=\"231\" height=\"15\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And God said: \u201cThis is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.
