Ground Zero is American Holy Ground. No Mosque Near Ground Zero

Ground Zero Cross 7/27/2010 – Fr. Johannes Jacobse –

Sacred ground is more easily understood by European Christians than their American counterparts. Some events are so catastrophic, or prove to be so historically significant, that they transcend the categories we normally employ to explain them. These events must reference something higher to make sense to us.

NAPLES (Catholic Online) – Muslims have it over secularists, but not Christians – at least the clear thinking ones anyway. The Muslim proposal to build a mosque two blocks from Ground Zero is not only an affront to all people who died there, but another chapter in a cultural jihad that seeks to replace the cultural traditions of Christendom with Sharia, the code of law derived from the Koran and from the teachings and example of Mohammed.

First the caveats. Yes, most Muslims are not jihadists; they may see the non-Muslim as an infidel but won’t resort to violence to defeat him . Yes, Muslim believers pose no threat to American cultural norms and legal structures as long as their numbers remain small. Yes, every Muslim citizen should be afforded the rights due to all Americans regardless of their religion. [Read more…]

Terrrorism’s Victory

Human Events | by Herbert London | Jan. 21, 2010

As George Orwell noted the first duty of intelligent people is “the restatement of the obvious.” It is obvious or should be obvious that the goal of terrorists is terrorism. What that means precisely is not clear based on recent news accounts.

According to reports the United States escaped an enormous tragedy when a Nigerian, Umar Abdulmutallab, was apprehended when he attempted to blow up a KLM flight from Africa to America via Amsterdam. Alas, that is accurate as far as it goes. Overlooked in this calculus is that a terrorist who gains access to a commercial flight has already achieved his goal, i.e. promote the fear of terrorism. “Notional” Security

Townhall | by Thomas Sowell | Jan. 12, 2010

The latest “screw-up” that let a man with explosives get on a plan on Christmas day is only part of a larger laxness and irresponsibility when it comes to national security. This administration pays lip service to national security and gives out with a lot of rhetorical notions that makes it notional security instead of national security.

The Muslim major who was arrested for the murders of American soldiers at Fort Hood had left so many clues to his hatred of this country that all you had to do was count the dots, without even connecting them, to see where he was coming from. But for a fellow officer to alert higher authorities to the danger would have meant risking damage to his own career moreso than to that of Major Nidal Hasan. [Read more…]

President Obama Must Choose Sides

American Thinker | by Rabbi Aryeh Spero | Jan. 10, 2010

There appears to be a battle raging within Barack Obama. How this war is resolved will decide how we fight the war on terror and determine if we win it at all. In his speech last spring in Cairo, Mr. Obama said, “I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.” Defending the honor of Islam and protecting Muslims is one of the goals that Barack Obama has set for himself. It constitutes a personal definition of his presidency. But is he doing so to the point of misleading the public in general, and at the risk of jeopardizing the American people in particular? Miranda Rights for Terrorists, New Obama Policy?

American Thinker | by Rick Moran | Nov. 19, 2009

Does Osama bin Laden need to be read his Miranda rights if we capture him? The question put to Attorney General Eric Holder (who was appointed by President Obama) by Lindsey Graham got this response:

Again I’m not — that all depends. I mean, the notion that we —

Such clarity of thought is about par for the course in the Obama administration. [Read more…]

Does Islam Breed Violence?

American Thinker | by Amil Imani | Nov. 12, 2009

There is a division of the house. On one side are the politically correct in government, the leftist mainstream media, and a raft of Islamist apologists. One and all are tripping over each other in reassuring us the mass murderers such as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan and suicide-bombers who detonate their explosive vests in crowded marketplaces and even mosques are individual anomalies and Islam is not responsible for what they do.

On the other side are those fed up with the innumerable daily horrific acts throughout the world that are clearly committed under the banner of Islam. In all fairness, there needs to be a distinction. [Read more…]

Obama: Hasan May Have Cracked Under Stress

Our president refuses to call the brutal massacre of 13 innocent unarmed Americans (12 soldiers + 1 civilan) and shooting of 29 innocent others an act of terrorism, despite Hasan’s previous praises of suicide bombers, his attempts to contact al Qaeda, and his shouts of “Alahu Akbar” as he slaughtered so many defenseless Americans at Ft. Hood.

Real Clear Politics | Nov. 10, 2009

Given what we already know, Barack Hussein Obama dares to say: “Until we have these answers buttoned down, I’d rather not comment on it.” Pathetic! [Read more…]
