Parents Seek to Give Schiavo Communion
PINELLAS PARK, Fla. Mar 26, 2005 — After another round of losses in the courts, Terri Schiavo’s parents kept watch over their dying daughter Saturday, seeking permission to give her Easter communion as their attorneys acknowledged the fight to reconnect the brain-damaged woman’s feeding tube was nearing an end.

In the State of Connecticut at this very moment, we hold in our prison system, a convicted mass murderer. He has been sentenced to death. When he asked that it be carried out, the state immediately stopped action on his impending death and rushed him to a bunch of psychiatrists because he said this. Why is Florida killing a woman who is so very much alive? Our condemned prisoners get more care and respect than this poor woman. I think it is absolutely disgusting that her husband, who has very conflicted interests at this point, can be heard and believed at this point. It doesn’t take a genius to realize that something is very wrong here. Mercy killing is illegal. People are prosecuted for this. I dread to see what will happen in the future to anyone whos death will benefit another. There will be few people left over the age of 70. God will judge those who committed this very horrific sin.

On the evening of Holy Saturday, the Franciscan Brother speaking for the Schindlers begged Michael Schiavo to allow Terri one fleck of the Precious Body of Christ and one small drop of His Most Precious Blood. Originally, that request was denied. At some point on Easter Sunday, that denial was reversed. I think the question begs asking: why the reversal? It’s possible Michael just had a change or heart. But in my OPINION, it’s also possible Felos suddenly realized such a denial might create the opportunity for either President Bush or Governor Bush to intervene on denial of religious rights (First Amendment of U.S. Constitution). In any event, the question begs asking. If Michael had her rights in mind all along, I can’t understand why there was a denial in the first place.
Also, note that the priest who administered the Sacrament said her tongue was dry (thus, she could only receive the Precious Blood). Compare that statement to Felos’ statement about her alleged condition on Holy Saturday (he claimed she was “beautiful” and “peaceful”).
