Wallace, an associate of Jesse Jackson with Martin Luther King Jr., argues that Jackson has contributed to one of the root causes of black despair when he fathered that child that will grow up fatherless. Fatherlessness is the best indicator of the future performance of children, particularly males, and is a growing problem all across society.

The birth of his out-of-wedlock daughter in May 1999, shattered Rev. Jesse Jackson's moral underpinnings. The leader of the Chicago-based Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, Jackson claimed America's moral mantle following the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968.
