Recently formed NIKA ministries seeks to strengthen the Orthodox Church by encouraging evangelization, supporting underpaid priests, examining ways to help parishes grow and encouraging jurisdictional unity

NIKA Ministries is a Non-Profit Pan-Orthodox Fellowship whose Mission is to help the Church be what it is called to be: One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic.

To accomplish this, our goals include:

Evangelizing by the annual production of twenty-six half-hour inspirational Orthodox Christian television programs that can be aired on a local access cable channel at little or no cost to the sponsoring parish(es) who wish to share our Faith.

Raising, through the powerful twenty-minute Parishes in Perilvideo presentation at least ten million dollars to help supplement the income of many sacrificing pastors and their families who serve needy parishes that are worthy of assistance.

Networking, on behalf of the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in America (S.C.O.B.A.), under the Chairmanship of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios (G.O.A.), a Coordination of Ministries among all Orthodox jurisdictions.

Finding, through the Parishes in Profile Needs Assessment Study, solutions and strategies that will help parishes grow spiritually, numerically and economically.

Humbly assisting our hierarchy to achieve, in God's timing, our canonical and administrative unity here in America under the auspices of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Cover Letter to Ruling Hierarchs in S.C.O.B.A.

His Eminence .../His Grace ...

RE: NIKA Ministries

Your Eminence/Your Grace:

With the encouragement, blessing and support of the Hierarchs listed on the accompanying brochure, we want to inform you about NIKA Ministries.

Many of us were greatly inspired by the thoughts that you, our hierarchical leaders, shared in the inspirational 35-minute video A New Era Begins.

The Conference of Bishops, which took place in Ligonier, PA, November 30 through December 2, 1994, was an event where our common dream of a coordinated Orthodox Church here in America was expressed.

NIKA Ministries wishes to simply be your servant in helping this dream come to fruition slowly but surely, in God's good timing. We are quite inter-jurisdictional, with representatives from all of the Orthodox membership of SCOBA. Our only aim is to help the Church be what it is called to be, namely more united, holy, catholic and apostolic.

Attached please, also, find a list of our goals.

While we are in the fund-raising process, we are very serious about achieving, with God's grace, all of these lofty ventures. The only way that we can do this, however, is together.

We need your blessings, prayers, support and direction. And, you need us to do these tasks on your behalf.

Could you, Your Eminence/Your Grace, therefore, consider offering your own endorsement (or, at least well wishes) for NIKA Ministries' success? We would be happy to send you our Business Plan, which includes our Articles of Incorporation. Otherwise, you may find everything by visiting our ever-developing NIKA Ministries website.

We trust that you will be pleased with the photo that we have temporarily placed of Your Eminence/Your Grace there. Our only reason for doing this is to simply let people see the faces behind the names of you our ruling hierarchs. For, whatever our cultural and jurisdictional backgrounds are, we are one Church in Christ that needs to get to know each other.

In conclusion, allow me to end with the following words whose author is anonymous: "With God's grace and mercy, and our working together in humility and harmony, we can, starting with our own souls, change the world." For Jesus Christ Conquers/IC XC NIKA!

Looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience, we ask your blessing.

With Much Respect,
